RE: FF Book in german

Werner,
Yes, there is not much going on here. In fact, I wondered for a long time
if I had been inadvertently deleted from the group. One possible
explanation is another new program that is VERY active, called Ultra
Fractal. I suspect a lot of image-oriented people are using/programming
that one (including me). Its capabilities go well beyond any prior fractal
generation engine.

It seems to me that most of the postings to this group are what I would call
"pattern generation." My use of FiFo (and previously FF) is for photo
retouching, so most operations are of interest only at the pixel level,
usually within a selection mask. So - maybe I am the disconnect. Yes, some
of my routines are used within Actions. I have been trying unsuccessfully
for several years to determine the algorithm that Adobe uses for the
Despeckle command. I would like to put a wrapper around it to do some other
things, but right now they are limited by the best imitation that I can do
of Despeckle.

Speaking of FiFo, I do not know of any discussion group for it. I sent
several pages of comments to Guenther Schuster in December. He said he
would get back after the first of the year, but I have yet to hear from him
or see a new rev posted on his web site. The link to his Revision History
page seems broken because I have not been able to access it for a month or
more.

Well, thank you for a posting so that we know you are still interested.

Regards, Bill
