I remember only "Filter Unlimited" - Michael's project.

I keep an eye on that little creature... it goes through development, and
hopefully someday it can be recommended for an end-user. But now it's still
having many problems (latest release - with video mostly).

Don't think Adobe have to worry though - GIMP has no capability to work
with CMYK etc etc... But for all these Web-centered graphics editors GIMP
is a very strong counterpart, as soon as it gets stable...
