photo mosaics

Hi all,

I found out that there's a free GIMP plugin to create those photo mosaic
compositions, where images from a database are compared to an image and
replace parts of it.  The page is at: http://www.kirchgessner.net/.

There's also a program by Arcsoft (http://www.arcsoft.com) called
PhotoMontage ($79.99). You can create your mosaic online there too, but
you pay to print it (20x13 is $44 bucks...).

I wonder how long it will take for a Photoshop plugin to show up for
this kind of stuff... Note that the guy who invented the stuff is not
selling his software. If he takes too long, his exclusive stuff will
become so common it will be like random dot images ("magic eye") pretty
soon.
