Re: Message from Mark re: C++

Hi all,

I think that if any compiler maker would charge the programmers when
they wanted to sell their own code, there wouldn't be that much
shareware around...
Perhaps it would help the discussion to really list things that can be
done in C++/SDK today that cannot be done in FiFo/FM. I know that both
programs are in early stages and would benefit from this, as would the
final users.
For instance, one thing that I would like to know: how hard is it for a
filter to access different layers? Can a filter created by the C++/SDK
create a layer? Modify a layer which it wasn't called from?
I think I have seen a plugin that was Mac only that created animated
gifs and had its output to several layers, but I don't remember the name
or if it was really the case. This would be for me one of the best ways
to create animated gifs, because you could afterwards touch up each
layer and a simple action would export them all as gifs.

That's it for now,

Alf
