Apart protection, I can use .8bf Filters in my 3D Software for post
render jobs,
but no FF Filters.

Maybe because FIFO only works with integer variables while FF use floats
or doubles,
so he have to do more floating point operations.

This works pretty with FIFO and Photopaint if you don't use a mask but
an object.
(an object is similar to a layer in Photoshop I guess).

Mini Tutorial for Photopaint:

Make your mask, convert it to an object, make sure the object is
selected,
start FIFO, apply the Filter, flat the object to the BG
or convert it back to a mask. Thats it.
