Dearest DuExtended Family:

I had such a lovely time with you at the Fair! There was a particular
moment on Sunday night at the campfire when I looked around at you all and
my heart swelled with great love for each and every one of you. I'm so
lucky to know you.

I'm sure you're dying to hang out again right away, and here's your chance...

After much back and forth, I guess it turns out I am having a birthday
party afterall. It will just be a small gathering slash BBQ for me and my
near and dear.

We will be serving good ole 'merican hot dogs, BBQed chicken, fresh corn
on the cob, Grandma Del's Fliss-famous potato salad, and ice-cold ginger
ale. If you will desire anything other than that, please bring it along.

If you absolutely insist on bringing a gift and can't afford a new car, a
master's degree, or a bigger apartment -- then burn me a mix cd or tell me
a story. Or better yet, just bring your love.
